What Makes a Superb Pair of Fight Shorts?Ask a fighter what they look for in a great pair of fight shorts and you may get one of any number of responses. One person may look for comfort while another, style. What about functionality? How can such a simply article of clothing be so complicated? Well, it isn't, really, if you follow a few key rules when manufacturing them. In order for a pair of fight shorts to be considered "fit" for performance, they need to conform to a few very simple, but important key factors.Comfort
There should be no doubt that the most important quality in a good pair of fight shorts is comfort. Ask any pro
fighter in the world and the majority of them, whether they fight for UFC, WEC, Strike Force, MFC, you name it;
They will undoubtedly mention the word COMFORT! The last thing on a fighters' mind should be discomfort. Aside from
using quality material which allows a certain amount of "give", fight shorts should also breathe well and flow with
the fighters' natural body movement. Another key ingredient is a side slit, which allows full extension of the legs.
In order for a fighter to do his/her best, they should be able to give 100% of their concentration to their task at
hand.
MaterialsFight shorts are not just a pair of shorts. They are the most important (and sometimes, only) garment that the fighter wears. Why is this, you might ask? Because they are MMA fighters, not boxers (No disrespect to the boxing community intended. You are welcome to wear our shorts, as well). In the MMA arena, fighters are expected to do much more than exchange fists. They must be able to put their body through its entire range of motion, which includes, of course, their lower body. Using only quality materials aids in more than just comfort, alone. It allows flexibility, which is a must for any professional fighter. We understand this well and that is why Toe 2 Toe never uses sub-standard materials in our fight shorts (or any of our clothing, for that matter).StyleLast, but certainly not least, a great set of fight shorts should have style. Of course, this one is open for opinion, but it is still a very important aspect of great fight shorts. Although comfort is a top priority, not having any sense of style would just be, well... boring. Great fight shorts tend to look good "out of the box", but should lend themselves to easily being kicked up a notch (additional logo placements, etc).
